Plan a doorbell camera layout
Start with the entrance and the direction people approach it. A wide view is useful, but a coverage cone is not a guarantee that faces or parcels will be identifiable.
- Locate the doorbell near the entrance in the mapper, then rotate its view toward the expected approach.
- Check the actual device specifications and installation height. Test the framing at the door and the parcel drop-off area.
- Add an approach camera if one doorbell cannot cover the required area. Keep neighboring private areas out of the planned view where practical.
- CCTV Mapper currently uses network-device connections for doorbells. It does not design transformer, chime or mains wiring.
